Let’s be real, being in quarantine has put a bit of a rough patch into your dating life whether you’re in a relationship or not. On the flip side, we’ve cultivated our creativity and become even closer with technology to maintain or develop new relationships. This goes to show that we are capable of overcoming any obstacle that comes our way (high five to you!).
Whether you’re unexpectedly quarantining with a new beau or your significant other who you’re used to connecting with after work, we’ve learned to become quite comfortable with our current situation (some may say TOO comfortable!). Just because we’ve been spending a lot more time indoors lately, it doesn’t mean we need to sacrifice the fun we’re used to having on a regular basis. Using our creativity, there are so many ways we can maintain a healthy, fun, and exciting relationship or get to know someone new in a safe manner. Check out my Quarantine Date Night Ideas below and get the sparks flowing again!
Quarantine Date Night Ideas
1. Virtual Wine Tasting
What a great way to discover your new favorite Rose or Cab! This is a great first virtual date idea as you can comfortably partake in this activity in the comfort of your own homes while giving a chance to get to know one another via yummy taking wine! If you’ve never heard of a virtual wine tasting before, basically a variety of wines are sent straight to your door before you hop on a Zoom call where an experience sommelier guides you through each glass, filling your wine loving heart with knowledge! I love how creative companies have become to not only make an event like this fun but super convenient for anyone interested! Get to know your date’s taste preferences better or discover a new wine you both love.
2. Virtual Cooking Class
Instead of the same old take out, why not learn a new skill or how to cook a yummy dish, once again, in the comfort of your own home! You and your boo can impress each other with your mad new skills or teach each other something new. The best part about this date is there are so many options to choose from! Whether you’re vegan or a meat lover, there are many virtual cooking class options out there for you to try. Take it one step further and enjoy the meal you prepared together via a romantic setup on your balcony or in your backyard or set up a cozy dining experience in your living room with tons of pillows, blankets, perhaps a digital backdrop of your favorite vacation (or tailor this to the cuisine your eating!) and your favorite playlist humming in the background. Bon appetit!
3. Try a New Hiking Trail
Living in San Diego, there a tons of hiking trails to explore! The amazing weather makes this a great date idea year round. Perhaps you have a go-to hiking trail that you wish to share and explore with your date or maybe theres a trail you’ve been dying to seek your books into. Now is the best opportunity to do so! Invite your date for some fun trail exploration and make the most of it. Maybe a little scavenger hunt or ‘eye spy’ game will bring your closer or induce endless laughs and memories. Warm weather not on your side? Not a problem! Try exploring a new neighborhood and discover a restaurant you’ll want to visit once indoor dining is open again!
4. Have a Picnic
I’m a big fan of picnics! Any way I can spend some time outdoors in nature with good company and good food is always a plus! This is such a great night idea for so many reasons. Not only can you and your date discover a new park or nature spot (socially distanced of course!) but this gives you a great opportunity to be creative with the nibbles and bubbly you pack while cultivating great one-on-one conversation. Try meeting up closer to sun down to catch the perfect sunset views – so romantic!
5. Outdoor Workout Class
Fitness centers and studios alike are taking opportunities to expand their classes both outdoors and online. Now there’s no excuse to get in the workout you’ve been craving! Even better, you can invite your love to participate with you. What’s better is studios are offering great discounts to try out a class or classes for that matter. Fun and inexpensive – it’s a total win-win! Get your sweat on and perhaps, afterwards, you can support your local juice shop and treat your date to a green juice. Cheers!
