I know applying your own false lashes can seem super daunting – I mean who wants to be poking stuff around our eye balls! But honestly, it doesn’t have to be. I’m no pro makeup artist here so, if I can do it, I have all the faith that you can do it too! Here are THREE simple steps to help you be a pro lash applicator in no time!
Step 1:
Prep your lashes. After you’ve applied your eye makeup to perfection, including your fav mascara (yes I like to apply mascara first as I find the lashes blend better), go ahead and grab your fav pair of lashes. GENTLY pull them out of their holder and, using both hands, lightly bend and wiggle the lashes up and down to loosen them up. This will also help them to shape to your eyes easier – a must do! You’ll also want to check that the lashes suit your eye shape by gently placing them onto your upper lash line before applying – you may need to trim them if they’re too long for your eyes.
Step 2:
Apply glue. Now that your lashes are all loosey goosey, gently apply a thin bead of lash glue and, using a toothpick, spread along the base of the lashes. Allow at least 30 seconds for the glue to set and become ‘tacky’.
Step 3:
Apply lashes. Starting at the outside corner of your eye, apply the lashes with clean fingers (or use a clean pair of tweezers) as close to the base of your natural lashes as you can. Apply added pressure to the inner and outer corners of your lashes and hold for a few seconds. These areas commonly come apart easily, so this is an important step to ensure your lashes stay in place longer! Gently press your false lashes and real lashes together to blend them together. Allow to fully dry and voila! You’re done!
